We are a community-based partnership between public/private agencies, businesses, faith based community, local government, and citizens who serve as part of the decision-making body for improving results for children and families.

2016 Barrow County Resource Directory

The 2016 Barrow County Family Connection Community Resource Directory is now available for download - simply Click Here. The directory has county specific phone numbers for area resources ranging from Volunteer Opportunities to important community HOTLINES. Inclusion of services in this pamphlet does not imply endorsement nor is it intended to be a comprehensive listing of all resources available in the county for families. You are encouraged to find out as much as possible about an organization before making a decision to use their services.


Our Vision


We envision a community that is positive, caring, clean, safe, and involved. We envision a community of people from all walks of life engaged in working together to foster a healthy environment in which to live, work and play.


Programs & Services


Family Connection is comprised of many working committees, strategy teams and programs centered on key issues in the community.

Youth Conference


A one-day conference for middle and high schools aged youth focused on making healthy decisions.


Dates: Annually in June

Back To School Bash


Free school supplies and backpacks to families in need.


Dates: Annually in July

Holiday Connection


A county wide "Gift House" for holiday assistance to local Barrow County families in need.


Dates: Annually in December

Barrow Book Partnership


Provides free books for children five and younger as well as resources for thier families.


Books distributed through WIC health classes, Child Find, and the references through Barrow County DFCS

CPAW


Committee dedicated to reducing alcohol and drug use in our community.


Monthly meetings held first Thursday of each month.

Child Abuse Prevention


Formed with the goad of raising community awareness in the fight to reduce and eliminate child abuse.


April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Contributing to educating our community to prevent abuse.
